With almost 2,000 followers, @nvotcommitted2026 on Instagram is widely known among students. Managed by seniors Addison Oliveira and Molly Barnes, the account highlights graduating seniors’ plans beyond high school.
Barnes has poured her enthusiasm for digital design into the NVOT 2026 Committed page, saying, “I’ve always loved using Canva and digital apps to express my creativity, so I thought channeling that passion and using it for the committed account was a great idea!”
Oliveira became involved with NVOT Committed because she “thought it would be a fun way to recognize everyone’s college commitments and have one place where students could celebrate each other’s accomplishments.”
The two seniors craft personalized posts for all of NVOT’s graduates, highlighting their post-high school destinations. They include the student’s school colors, logos, mascots, sports, and majors.
Barnes added, “Our goal was to make each post feel unique while still maintaining a consistent look across the account. The main way we achieved personalization was through our custom captions.”
The account also analyzes trends in the Class of 2026’s decisions, pinpointing top states, colors, cities, and more. Oliveira said, “I’ve seen a lot of students going into business, nursing, engineering, and education.”
In addition, Barnes underlined the significance of the NVOT Committed page for our community.
“The account helps us recognize the hard work that brought our seniors here, and it brings the school community together by allowing students, families, and staff to share in these exciting milestones,” she said.
Undoubtedly, managing the account while simultaneously balancing senior responsibilities is highly demanding.
Oliviera admitted, “The biggest challenge is keeping up with submissions and making sure every post is personalized.”
Barnes also drew attention to how many commitments get sent in during the month of May, saying that this makes running the account time-consuming. Despite this, she found that the responsibility brings much reward.
Barnes said, “Parents and kids were always quick to express their gratitude, which made running the account more than worth it!” hope our viewers use our account as a way to celebrate and support their classmates‘ accomplishments.”
