NVOT Wins at Arcola Boys Golf Tournament
Boys golf wins tournament against 13 Bergen County schools
The boys’ varsity golf team won the Arcola Cup Invitational on 4/25, an in-season high school tournament in Paramus, NJ. The tournament includes 18 holes and is a one-day, stroke-play tournament, where players compete against all others by comparing a total score for more than one round. played over one day. OT’s team consisted of senior Aaron Song, junior Tim Clune, and sophomores Michael Buckley, Jun Chun, and Ian Kim.
The team achieved a total score of 330, beating out the 13 other schools that participated in the invitational. Buckley said that “a big factor was that all of us played within ourselves.”
The Arcola Country Club’s facility and unique course also contributed to the team’s overall victory. “We were able to adjust to the really fast greens that Arcola has,” said Buckley.
Head coach Mr. Thomas Quinn was confident the team would perform well, saying that the players are “very competitive.” They were all solid,” said Quinn. “It was a really fun day.”
