Fall Sports: Checking in with Boys’ Soccer
Team on track to meet goals
After consecutive years of reaching the state sectional finals, the Boys Soccer Team (2-0-2) has come to expect success. According to Head Coach Mark Torrie, the team wants to win not only the Big North, but also to reach another semifinal in the County Tournament and reach the State Sectional Final. Through 4 games, they are either on pace for these goals or within striking distance of them. The team has yet to lose a game in part due to solid defense led by seniors Colin Eifert and Brett LaFronz. However, Torrie says the team “needs to be far more productive in the attacking third.” Senior Sam Kang, returning from FC Westchester, and junior Danny Yun, coming off a breakout sophomore campaign, will certainly help solve this issue. Other players to watch this year include seniors Dan Oakes and Jeeho Yun and juniors Anthony Contreras and Mike Pankauski.
