The Golden Knights football team will advance to the Group 3 State Championship after defeating the West Morris Central Wolfpack, 21 – 6, on Sunday, November 20.

The team started with a 14-0 lead in the first half after touchdowns by seniors Tommy Carraciolo and Aidan Heaney. Heaney’s late-in-the-fourth-quarter touchdown brought the Knights to victory.

NVOT football made history as the first-ever North Jersey high school football team to participate in the Group 3 State Championship. Before 2021, the sectional championship, played at MetLife Stadium, was the final game in the playoff structure NJSIAA has since added two games to the playoff picture in order to lessen the number of state champions from 20 to 5.
