The Latest–Track Zooms through County Relays, Baseball stays hot, and Softball picks up Multiple Wins

Baseball

After losing the first game of the week to Teaneck 8-3, the boys bounced back with a 22-13 revenge win against Teaneck on Tuesday and a 3-1 win Friday against Ramsey. Senior Alex Kranzler pitched 7 innings,

Boys Lacrosse

The team lost their only game of the week 14-2 against River Dell on Wednesday.  

Boys Tennis

The team started out with a 4-2 record on the season. Their first game of the week took place on Monday vs Fort Lee, winning 4-1. Then on Tuesday,  they swept Teaneck 5-0, until losing the last two games to Don Bosco and Tenafly.

Golf

In the only match of the week, the team fell 162-170 to River Dell. Junior Jun Chun led the team in scoring by shooting a 36.

Girls Lacrosse

After losing to Indian Hills by a score of 11-6, the girls beat Saddle Brook 15-1 on Wednesday with the help of Annabelle Lee’s 3 goals and Charlotte Malady’s 7 assists. But, Friday Wayne Valley defeated the girls 14-7. 

Softball

The girls started off the week with a 19-0 win over Teaneck on Monday. Sophomore Jamie Farrington pitched 3 innings, recording 5 strikeouts and no runs allowed. Following Monday’s win, the girls lost two in a row to Bergenfield and Ramsey, but finished the week off with a shutout win over Pascack Hills. 

Track & Field

The team competed at county relays Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday where seniors Tyler DeMarco, 14-6, and Nathan Park led the boys to victory in Pole Vault; the boys also won the High Jump event. The Girls team won Javelin and Shot Put largely due to the efforts of junior Layla Giordano who threw 42 feet on shot put and 146 feet on javelin. Jamie Kim and Allie Tuite propelled the girls Pole Vault to victory. Girls also won the Discus event setting a county record in the relays.
