Still Keeping It Real With Fantasy – Week 6

Same People, Same Great Advice
Still+Keeping+It+Real+With+Fantasy+%E2%80%93+Week+6

Welcome back to week six of Keeping it Real With Fantasy. Personally, my team is cooking with a 5-0 start, but others are struggling. As we approach the middle of the season, leagues are starting to take shape. This week is a crucial point in the season to make productive decisions to help spark a playoff run or simply prevent yourself from placing last.

News/Injuries:

Justin Jefferson (WR) – The standout Vikings receiver has been amazing all year. Unfortunately, he suffered a hamstring injury and was placed on the IR. He will be out until at least week 10.

Anthony Richardson (QB) – The rookie QB from Indianapolis has suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder last week. He was recently placed on the IR and will be out for four to eight weeks depending on if he needs surgery or not.

James Conner (RB) – The Arizona running back endured a significant knee injury in the loss last week to the Bengals. He was placed on the IR, causing him to be out for at least 4 weeks.

Starts:

TJ Hockenson (TE) – Hockenson has been putting up average numbers all year with 51 yards last week against the Chiefs. The Chicago defense, coming off a rare win, will fold against their division rival. Hockenson, being one of the main targets, and will be able to rack up a lot of receiving yards and possibly more of a redzone share.

Gabe Davis (WR) – Davis put up 100 yards on just 6 receptions with a touchdown on top of that. Throughout the season, he has put up solid stats and this week the Bills are playing a struggling Giants team. This will be a big week for Davis.

Sits:

Nico Collins (WR) – Collins has had some good games this season including games with 168 and 146 yards. He has also had some games where his yards have been down. This week, the Texans will face the Saints and their very solid defense. Collins will struggle to find open space and will not put up big numbers.

Amari Cooper (WR) – The Browns receiver has been average all year with only one game with above 100 receiving yards. This week, Cleveland takes on arguably the best defense in the league in the 49ers. The 49ers are coming off a dominant victory against the Cowboys with limiting the Dallas offense to only 197 total offensive yards. Cooper will have a hard time getting the ball in this game.

Waiver Wire:

Emari Demercado (RB) – Demercado is an undrafted free agent out of TCU. With James Conner out, the rookie will be seeing an increase in production this week against the Rams. This would be a great pick up to a team in need of a running back.

KJ Osborn (WR) – The Vikings receiver will be seeing a lot more targets across the next couple of weeks with Justin Jefferson out. Jefferson is out until at least week 10, leaving Kirk Cousins looking for a new target. This is his new guy and should be your guy to pick up this week.

Josh Downs (WR) – Downs is a third round pick out of North Carolina and now on the Indianapolis Colts. Gardner Minshew is getting the start this week and will be looking for Downs the whole game. Downs exploded for over 90 yards last week versus Tennessee and is expected to do the same this week.
