Boys Soccer
The team began the state playoffs Wednesday with a 1-0 win at home over Bergenfield. Senior Tyler Chui scored the game winning goal in overtime. Then, on Saturday, the boys faced off against Morris Knolls in the section 1, group 3 quarterfinals. After a scoreless first half, the boys scored three goals in the second half in order to get the 3-2 win. Senior Michael Buckley, junior Lorenzo Lago, and sophomore Daniel Park scored the teams’ goals. The team faces Dover at home Wednesday in the sectional semifinals.
Cross Country
On October 28, Cross Country raced at Garret Mountain for the NJSIAA Sectionals. Sophomore Benjamin Johnson placed in sixth, leading the boys varsity team to a fifth place finish. The girls team had a strong performance from all runners, placing second overall with junior Sophia Katechis finishing 13th.
Field Hockey
The team played their final game of the season at home versus River Dell Monday. The girls won 4-0 with goals from senior Alexa Padilla, junior Anabelle Lee, junior Mia Ferraro had two.
Football
The team won the first round of the state playoffs Friday at home versus Paramus by a score of 42-14. Junior Nick Rossi had two touchdown runs, quarterback Alex Orrechio had three touchdown runs, and senior Evan Brooks caught a touchdown pass. The team faces Lincoln at home on Friday in the sectional semifinals.
Girls Soccer
Finishing off the regular season Tuesday, the girls tied Demarest 1-1. But in the first round of the state playoffs, the girls defeated Demarest 3-0 with goals from freshman Caroline Ognibene, sophomore Sienna Drullinsky, and sophomore Mia Colon. The girls face Vernon on Monday in the quarterfinals round.
Volleyball
The girls finished the regular season with a 2-0 win at Hackensack Tuesday. Friday, the girls defeated Mahwah 2-0 in the first round of the state playoffs. Junior Brenna Delaney led the team with six kills while senior Grayson Housley had 10 digs. They face off against Pascack Valley at home on Wednesday in the Quarterfinal round.
