Girls Tennis:
The girls went to Demarest this past Tuesday in the state sectional final and lost 5-0, ending the Old Tappan’s girls tennis team’s season.
Girls Soccer:
On Wednesday the girls played a home game and defeated Waldwick 5-1 in the Bergen County Tournament first round. The goals were scored by senior Nicole Klapowitz, juniors Isabella Zingarelli and Mia Colon, sophomore Caroline Ognibene, and freshman Elena Pothos. On Saturday the girls played Northern Highlands in the tournament’s second round and won 5-4. Juniors Sienna Drullinsky, Colon, and freshman Pothos all scored goals. Junior Eva Saric recorded 15 saves.
Boys Soccer:
On Wednesday the boys played at Garfield for the Bergen County Tournament, second round, and lost 1–0.
Field Hockey:
On October 14 the girls won 3-2 at Westwood. Seniors Madison Kosmark, Annabelle Lee, and Gabby DuToit scored goals. On the 17th the girls had their senior night and played a home game against Passaic Tech and won 8-3. Seniors Mia Ferraro, Lee, Kosmark, DuToit, and sophomore Nora Lee all scored points. On the 18 the girls played against Wayne Hills at home and lost 4-2. Seniors Lee and Kosmark scored the goals.
Football:
On Friday the boys went to Wayne Hills and defeated them 35-0. Sophomore Zachary Miceli had a 25 yard run and a 12 yard pass to junior Joey Cresetelli to complete their third straight shutout.
Cross Country:
The Cross Country team raced on Saturday at Darlington Park for the Bergen County Group Championships 2024. The girls team placed first with sophomore Emme Fermin winning the Bergen Group B Championship. The top 5 finishers were Emme Fermin, Sophia Katechis, Tina D’Andrea, Grey Ingledue, and Claire Bailey. The boys team placed second with juniors Benjamin Johnson and Brendan McNamara placing second and third in the overall race.
Volleyball:
On Thursday the girls had a home game against Park Ridge in the Bergen County Tournament first round and won 2-0. Seniors Samantha Kranzler had 10 kills, and Addison Gioffre had 2 blocks and 20 assists. On Saturday the girls played in the tournament’s second round against Demarest at home and won 2-0. Senior Kranzler had 13 kills, senior Gioffre had 26 assists, and junior Julia Whaley had 2 blocks.
