“Outside of school, I like to spend my time with family, play golf, and I enjoy cooking. If I wasn’t teaching and coaching, I would like to be a professional caddy. Little known fact is I once won a poker tournament at an underground establishment in Brooklyn, and I was lucky to get out unharmed!!!”

About/Description: “The main thing that students can expect is to get after it on Fridays. Everyone in my classes knows that on Fridays, we grind!”

FUN FACTS:
- “I’m a big Star Wars series fan. I grew up watching it, and in the 80s, thought it was the coolest thing ever.
- “I also have a one-year-old goldendoodle who’s pretty high-energy.”
- “One interesting thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I was in Myrtle Beach on vacation and having a football catch with my daughter in about three feet of water. I then saw a shark that was around 5-6 feet long. I didn’t move. I just kind of watched the shark swim. However, the shark then started to swim toward my daughter, and I chased after it. The shark then darted out to sea. I asked my daughter if she saw what I saw, and she said no.”

“I love how working in a self-contained program allows me to really get to know my students over their four years in high school. I also love that I am able to spend time with each student in my class to help them achieve their individual goals.” – Mrs. Katherine Doherty

- “I have been a vegetarian for most of my life. I stopped eating meat when I was in 6th grade. I am the only vegetarian in my family; luckily, they all support my decision!”
- “I love to travel and have been fortunate to see many beautiful countries! I also love to go to concerts and will travel to see some of my favorite musicians!”
