Tennis:
The girls tennis team had a packed week with 4 back-to-back matches. They played Pascack Valley at home on Monday, October 6th, where they won 3-2. On Tuesday, they won 4-1 against Montville, away, in the quarterfinal round of states. On Wednesday, they won their match against Bergenfield away, 4-1. Finally, on Thursday they faced off against Sparta in the semifinal round of states where they won 3-2. Senior Lili Setrakian won her first Singles match along with sophomores Alina Sorokin and Mukilarasi Dharmaraj on second and third singles. The girls play Demarest in the state finals on Tuesday, October 14th.
Boys Soccer:
The boys soccer team had three games last week. First, on Monday, October 6th, the Knights faced off against Pascack Valley and defeated them 2-0. Sophomore Campbell Torrien and Junior Andonis Vazacopolous recorded the goals. Then on Wednesday October 8th, they defeated Teaneck by a score of 3-0. Lastly, the team faced Lyndhurst in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament and defeated them 2-1 with goals coming from seniors Aidan Mulligan and Teppei Tomono. The team will face off against 10-0 Tenafly for the second time on Tuesday, October 21st at 4:15 after losing to them 1-0 on September 25th.
Girls Soccer:
The girls soccer team is off to a red hot 10-1 start on the season. Last week, the team defeated Pascack Valley 5-0, with the goals being scored by sophomore Elena Pothos, senior Isabella Zingarelli, Junior Caroline Ognibene and sophomore Lea Ramos scoring two goals. The team also faced off against Teaneck on Wednesday October 8th and defeated them 6-0. The team ended off the week against Madison and lost 3-2.
Cross Country:
Cross country had their Big North Leagues meet on October 8th at Darlington Park where the girls won overall. Lauren Lombino was their Big North National Freshman Champ and junior Emme Fermin placed 3rd with a time of 19:34. For the boys, senior Ben Johnson placed first overall with a time of 16:05, making him the 2025 Big North National League champion. Their next meet, Bergen County Group Championships, will be October 18th at Darlington Park.
Field Hockey:
Field Hockey had a game on Tuesday, October 8 against River Dell. They won 1-0 with a goal from senior Emily Ha and an assist from junior Nora Lee. They will play Westwood at home on October 13th, Pompton Lakes on Wednesday away, and Passaic Tech on Thursday also away.
Football:
The Football team had a bye week this week and therefore did not have a game. The team is currently 6-0 and will face off against Wayne Hills at home this Friday, October 17th.
Volleyball:
The volleyball team had two games this week. First, On Monday October 6th, the team faced off against Pascack Valley and lost 2-0. Senior Julia Whaley recorded 7 kills and 8 digs. Also, junior Bianca Benasillo recorded 6 kills in the loss. To end off the week, On Saturday, the team faced off against Glen Rock by a score of 3-0 in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament. Julia Whaley recorded a season high 17 kills, with Bianca Benasillo also contributing 10 kills to the win. The team will face off against Montville today, October 13th at home.
