Football:
The football team defeated Wayne Hills 47-28 on Friday, October 17, to improve their record to 7-0. The Golden Knights got off to a fast 20-0 lead with touchdowns coming from juniors Shane Small and Leo Etter, and senior Devyn Radoian. Radoian had a career high 30 carries with 165 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Knights to a commanding victory. The Knights will face Pascack Valley at home on October 24th to end off the regular season with the league championship at stake.
Cross Country:
On October 18, cross country had the Bergen County Croup Championships at Darlington Park in Mahwah. Senior Ben Johnson was the group B boys champion, placing 1st with a time of 15:58 and becoming the 5th ever Knight to break the 16:00 mark. For the girls, junior Emme Fermin placed 3rd with a time of 19:14 which made her NVOT’s 3rd all-time for the course. As a team, the girls won the meet, making them the Bergen Group B County Champs.
Field Hockey:
On Monday, October 13, they had a home game against Westwood where they won 3-2. Senior Emily Ha scored a goal along with juniors Emma Ellison and Nora Lee. On Thursday, October 14th, they faced Passaic Tech in an away game where they lost 1-0.
Girls Soccer:
On Wednesday, October 15, the girls beat Bergen Tech, 4-0. Caroline Ognibene, Elena Pothos, Isabella Zingarelli, and Mia Colon each scored one goal.
Boys Soccer:
On Tuesday, October 14, the boys soccer team lost to Ramapo 4-1 in the second round of the Bergen County Tournament. Sophomore Adem Ozgen scored 1 goal and sophomore Campbell Torrie had 1 assist. Senior AJ Aiello had 15 saves. On Saturday, October 18, the boys lost 0-3 against Westwood.
Volleyball:
The volleyball team had 3 games this week. Starting on Tuesday, the Knights defeated Indian Hills 2-0. Then, on Thursday the Knights defeated Tenafly 2-0. Senior Adriana Byran recorded 15 digs, with junior Joley Giordano contributing 23 assists in the commanding win. To end off the week, The Knights defeated Pascack Valley 3-1 in the Quarterfinal Round of The Bergen County Tournament. Julia Whaley, Eva Curko and Bianca Benasillo all recorded double-digit kills in the win.
