In the spirit of Halloween, the Student Council hosted their annual costume contest. On Wednesday, October 31st, students dressed themselves in a variety of different costumes ranging from hippies to cats, all to celebrate Halloween.

The contest took place during lunch in the north gym. Staff and student judges worked together to select winners for each category. The categories included scariest, funniest, best group pair, most creative, and best teacher costume. Prizes were given out to the students and teachers with the best costume in each category. The winners received prizes of “goody bags filled with different types of candy,” said Ms. Hollie Fox, student council adviser.

Here are the winners for each category of the contest (chosen by a staff member as well as a student judge):

Scariest Costume: sophomore Kira Murphy (bird beak costume)

Funniest Costume: freshman Chase Wohner (celebrating the wrong holiday costume)

Best Group Costume: senior Alexis Arnold, junior Christina McQuade, and junior Ana Rumora (cereal- themed costumes)

Best Pair: junior Aaron DeNicola and one of NVOT’s tots, Coco Hodgson (Harry Potter & Hermoine costumes)

Most Creative: senior Matthew Genova (Aladdin costume)

Best Teacher: art teacher Donna Dolby (jack in the box costume)
