Still Keeping It Real With Fantasy- Week 12

Helping NVOT with their fantasy football problems

Welcome back to Week 12 of Fantasy Football! This past week contained much of the same, with Lamar Jackson playing at an MVP level, the Bengals losing, and Philip Rivers’ slow decline.

News –

Myles Garrett(Browns)- Garrett is suspended indefinitely without pay nor a possible return to the season for conking Mason Rudolph in the head with a helmet. Maurkice Pouncey(Steelers) and Larry Ogunjobi(Browns) were both also suspended for their roles in the fight.

Marlon Mack (Colts)-  Mack injured his hand against the Jaguars and is expected to miss a couple of games.

Mohammad Sanu Sr (Patriots)- Sanu injured his ankle against the Eagles and is possibly out for the next few weeks.

Starts –

DK Metcalf(Seahawks) – The Seahawks are having some struggles at the WR position with Tyler Lockett not being 100% and Josh Gordon still learning the playbook, the wide receiver should be getting some chances this week. Going up against the weak Eagles week secondary, we should expect Metcalf to have himself a game.

Matt Ryan(Falcons)– Although Matt Ryan has not been his best form, he should definitely be a start for your week 12 lineup. The past two weeks, he has versed the New Orlean Saints and Carolina Panthers and has put up 18 points in both of the matchups. He will be going up the Buccaneers, who have given up the second-most fantasy points to QBs this season. With Calvin Ridley starting to show up and Julio Jones still playing like the monster he is, Matt Ryan will look to bounce back against the Bucs and put up big numbers.

Philip Lindsay(Broncos)- With his slow start, Lindsay is due for a big game. Although he is going up against the Bills, whose defense has been good overall this year, they fail to stop the run game. Buffalo has allowed every one of their opponent’s running backs to gain or score at least 120 yards. Although he splits carries with Royce Freeman, who is a sleeper, he has taken on more of the workload and will try to make himself a top 10 Rb for week 12.

Sits –

Aaron Rodgers(Packers)– Rodgers doesn’t have the best record coming off the bye, having fewer than 18 fantasy points in four of his past five games after a break. Even though it may seem like he has been producing outstanding numbers in fantasy terms, he only had a combined 23 points over the past two games against the Chargers and Panthers. He will be going up against the leaders of the NFC, the 49ers. Although the 49ers defense has let up a couple of big games to Qbs, that defense has held opposing quarterbacks to around an average of 11 fantasy points. Rodgers is a risky starter for this week’s lineup.

Terry McLaurin(Redskins)– Lions cornerback Darius slay will look to make things tough on the rookie his week by covering him the whole game. With McLaurin’s pretty good start to his rookie season, he will be facing a top cornerback in the league and will have to find ways around the star. The receiver had a mediocre game against the Jets, only hauling in three catches for 69 yards. The jets defense is not the greatest, so going up against a way better defense and cornerback, it is hard to say that McLaurin will have a good game this week in his week 12 matchup.

Brian Hill(Falcons)- Hill was a big let down this past week in Fantasy. He only had 15 carries for 30 yards and one reception for 8 yards. He is going up against the Buccaneers, who are No. 2 in fewest fantasy points allowed to a running back. Only two running backs have scored a touchdown against their defense this whole season. With Hill not stepping up for Freeman, I don’t see him turning things around this week, as it could be his last if Freeman is getting closer to his return. Brian Hill is a Flex player at best.

Waiver Wire:

Jaylen Samuels(Steelers)– With a lot of players on the Steelers offense hurt, including starting running back James Conner, Samuels will be the guy for the steelers offense this week going up against the winless Bengals. He is bound to have a good game, as there aren’t many other options except for him.

Miles Sanders(Eagles)– If Jordan Howard can not play yet again and you are looking for a solid flex, Sanders is definitely a great option. Although he didn’t put up great numbers against the Patriots defense, he is still improving a lot and will have another big game sooner rather than later. Miles Sanders can do everything in the Eagles backfield, and they will try to incorporate him as much as possible since the receiving core of the Eagles is banged up.
