Injuries:
Chris Godwin (Buccaneers, WR) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers star receiver Chris Godwin is expected to miss Sunday’s matchup against the Chargers due to a hamstring pull. This means Tom Brady will be without one of his major weapons. Godwin has been a transcendent player and his absence will be felt by the Buccaneers this week.
Chase Young (Washington, DE) – The Washington Football Team’s rookie edge rusher suffered a groin strain week 3 and is listed as an IR for Sunday’s game. Young is one of the most explosive young players playing right now and his effect on the Washington Football Team’s defense was incredible. We wouldn’t recommend starting him this week against the reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson this Sunday. Better be safe than sorry.
Starts:
Noah Fant (Broncos, TE)- The upcoming Thursday Night Football matchup between the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets would likely be a Broncos victory considering that the Jets are one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Regardless of the absence of Drew Lock, expect this Broncos offense to be firing on all cylinders. Noah Fant is one of the faster tight ends in this league. His speed might be too much for the Jets defense to handle.
D.K. Metcalf (Seahawks, WR) – The Seattle Seahawks sophomore wide receiver has been performing exceptionally well. Throughout three weeks of football he has racked up three touchdowns. With quarterback teammate Russell Wilson playing at an MVP level, expect Metcalf to perform at his peak in the following weeks. With the Seahawks playing against the Dolphins, who have one of the worst defenses in this league, you can expect big games for both Metcalf and Wilson.
James Robinson (Jaguars, RB) – Robinson has had one of the most interesting years in the 2019-2020 season, and he is seemingly getting better by the week. Robinson had two touchdowns and six catches for 83 yards against the Dolphins this past week. Through three weeks Robinson had a total of three touchdowns, making him rise among the player rankings. Look for him to run through the Bengals defense, which is ranked as the fifth worst defense against running backs.
Sits:
T.Y. Hilton (Colts, WR) – This year, the Indianapolis Colts have been a run-heavy team and have limited themselves in the “pass” game. Colts number one receiver, T.Y. Hilton has been at about a 20% target rate to start off this season. Going up in week 4 against the Chicago Bears, who have yet to let up a touchdown to a receiver, Hilton will be covered fairly well and will be limited throughout the game. Don’t expect the old Philip Rivers to help his number one receiver put up big numbers against an undefeated Bears team.
Terry McLaurin (Washington, WR) – The Washington Football team will be going up against the Baltimore Ravens, a top team in the league. Washington’s number one receiver, McLaurin, has not been able to play to his full potential because of the lack of good quarterback play. His quarterback teammate, Dwayne Haskins, is one of the lowest ranked in the league according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). McLaurin will be shadowed by star cornerback Marcus Peters, which will most likely mean no production from the receiver. The Ravens defense on the other hand, only let up two touchdowns to opposing receivers this season.
Waiver Wire:
Hunter Renfrow (Raiders, WR) – With Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards out for the Raiders, Hunter Renfrow will be the top target for Derek Carr. The Las Vegas Raiders are going up against the Buffalo Bills, who have struggled with locking down slot receivers, allowing only a 82% completion rate. Look for Renfrow to be an impact player in this week 4 matchup and to cause havoc for the Bill’s secondary.
Jerick McKinnon (49ers, RB) – With the vast majority of injuries in the running back position, McKinnon is next in line and will be the starter on the San Francisco 49ers. McKinnon and the 49ers are playing against the shaky Philadelphia Eagles in a nightmare matchup. Look for McKinnon to get at least 15 touches in this week’s game behind a top 5 offensive line.
