The graduation ceremony has been moved up.

On Friday, October 1, Principal Bruce Sanbatini announced, via email, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) requirements for the Start Strong Assessments for the 2020-2021 school year. Testing will take place from Thursday, October 7 to Tuesday, October 12 and will cover English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science.

According to the NJDOE, the Start Strong Assessments are intended to “produce information that should be used as a standards-based complement to the resources used by educators in their classrooms to evaluate the needs of students.” However, they will not replace the spring 2022 New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA).

On Thursday, only seniors and freshmen must report to the school by 8 am to take the science section of the NJDOE. On Friday, only freshmen and sophomores must report to school by 8 am to take the ELA section of the NJDOE. Next Tuesday, only students enrolled in Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2 must report to the school by 8 to take the math section of the NJDOE. All students currently enrolled in these classes will take the same course exam no matter grade or class level (College Prep, College Prep Enriched, or Honors). Students who are doubling up (taking Algebra 2 and Geometry simultaneously) will only take the Algebra 2 exam.

Students not scheduled to take any of these NJDOE assessments should see the schedule below for additional information.
