On Saturday, October 8, the NVOT Marching Band placed second at annual US Bands Ludwig Musser Classic at MetLife Stadium with an overall score of 79.1.

The band competed against 15 other schools around the tri-state area. The marching band performed their 2022 field show titled Kusama, an original production that is based upon Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s journey as an artist.

According to band director Amy Wilcox, this is the highest that the band has ever placed at the regional competition.

“This was our best performance this season,” said drum major Kiki Liu, “Every year we attend this event and see the giant stadium, but it never fails to amaze me when we walk out onto the field.” Liu looks forward to the rest of the season as the team prepares for states and nationals in early November.

The band will compete next on Saturday, October 15, at Northern Highlands.
