What students can expect from your class:
- “Students can expect to be challenged to go beyond their perceived limits and achieve more, while also practicing kindness, compassion, and teamwork. Students can practice setting goals, resilience, and healthy habits that carry into everyday life!”

FUN FACTS:
- “Outside of school, I really enjoy spending quality time with my family! My free time is often spent cheering on my kids as they take part in their various activities like cheerleading, soccer, baseball, gymnastics, scouts, and swimming. When we can, we enjoy unplugging from the busy pace of life to go upstate, where we hike, fish, and relax in nature.”

“I enjoy building relationships with my students and watching their creativity unfold during cooking labs. It’s fun to witness students being proud of their creations. For some, it’s their first time cooking or trying new foods. It’s a pleasure to watch those moments. I also love hearing from students when they cook at home. I feel fortunate that I get to share my knowledge and passion for food with my classes.”

What students can expect from your class:
- “Students are expected to participate in cooking labs while carrying out sanitation procedures. The class is very hands-on and fun. Safety is paramount, and they find out quickly not much is tolerated when it comes to safety. They need to work effectively in a team environment to complete recipes and clean up on time. Many students aren’t aware they can take 3 years of Culinary, starting with Culinary 1 sophomore year and Advanced Culinary during junior and senior years. The advanced class curriculum alternates year-to-year, therefore it’s a different curriculum. Advanced culinary also has an honors option, and students participate in food competitions during these classes.”

FUN FACTS:
- “If I wasn’t a teacher, I would seek out a job that encompasses food and travel. I also enjoy the entertainment industry and would possibly seek a position as a food stylist or culinary producer for a TV show/movie.”
- “I love to travel with my family. While on vacation, we enjoy immersing ourselves in local cultures and seeking out food the locale is known for. I enjoy watching my daughters play soccer, baking on Sunday mornings, and going to concerts (even traveling for some).”

“The thing I like the most about [teaching] is I get to teach skills that translate to some of our students getting a job or living independently.”
Position: District’s Transition Counselor [STEP]. “I go between both high schools and I teach job skills and life skills.”
What students can expect from you:
- “They can expect me to push them to become as independent as they can be, to step out of their comfort zone, and be open to feedback and new experiences.”

FUN FACTS:
- “My favorite thing to do outside of school is travel. I’ve been to over 40 countries, and my next trip is to Romania over the winter break. I go with my wife and my two-year-old son, William.”
- “So after college, I decided to travel to Korea, and I taught English there for a year. I lived in downtown Seoul, and I was able to travel all around the country. I went to Japan a few times, and China for five weeks after I was finished, and backpacked around.”
