It’s time!!! It’s the 68th Annual Grammy Awards hosted by Trevor Noah, and we’re here to predict who will win the major categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. If you do not know what the Grammys are, they are the one of the most prestigious music awards presented by the Recording Academy.
Record of The Year:
The nominees for this category is “DtMF” (Bad Bunny), “Manchild” (Sabrina Carpenter), “Anxiety” (Doechii), “WILDFLOWER” (Billie Eilish), “Abracadabra” (Lady Gaga), “luther” (Kendrick Lamar & SZA), “The Subway” (Chappel Roan), and “APT” (ROSÉ & Bruno Mars).
Record of the Year is one of the biggest awards at the Grammys because it not only highlights the song, but the producer’s overall role in its creation. We think that “WILDFLOWER” Billie Ellish record will win because it became a major hit this year, and it always highlights the singer’s powerful vocals and emotions on stage. The producer is Billie’s brother, Finneas O’Connell, “WILDFLOWER” has a very haunting melody and lots of harmonies in the lyrics. Fans just love the songwriting and the iconic sibling duo in the music industry. We definitely do not think “APT” will win because we view this song as annoying and obnoxious to listen to. However, we think the other nominees have a great chance of winning.
Album of the year:
For this major category the nominees are “DtMF” (Bad Bunny), “Swag” (Justin Bieber), “Chromakopia” (Tyler, The Creator), “Man’s Best Friend” (Sabrina Carpenter), “GNX” (Kendrick Lamar), “Let God Sort Em Out” (Clipse), “Mutt” (Leon Thomas lll), and “Mayhem” (Lady Gaga).
While all of these albums are beautifully composed, we do believe there is a clear winner here. If we’re taking into consideration commercial success, impact, visuals, and tour, Bad Bunny’s “DtMF” thrives in all. With his three number one songs (DtMF, BAILE INoLVIDABLE, and NUEVAYoL), this album skyrocketed to #1 on the charts and became the biggest streaming week for a Latin song ever and fastest to 200 million streams. This album was not only known for its commercial success, but its impact on the culture. Which is harder to argue about the other contestants.
Song of the year:
The nominees for this category are “DtMF” (Bad Bunny), “Manchild “(Sabrina Carpenter), “Anxiety” (Doechii), “WILDFLOWER” (Billie Eilish), “Abracadabra” (Lady Gaga), “luther” (Kendrick Lamar & SZA), “The Subway” (Chappel Roan), and “APT” (ROSÉ & Bruno Mars).
These are all great songs that have been the most popular this year, however we think that “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter will be the ultimate winner. It is her hit single from her 2025 album Man’s Best Friend. It is known for her catchy lyrics and upbeat melodies, and I think many people absolutely love the music video that goes along with the song. Sabrina also made a huge comeback to the music industry with fan-favorite hits such as “Espresso” and “Please Please Please”. The song is very upbeat and easy to sing along to. For lots of fans, it’s a song to call out immature behavior in relationships in a humorous way. “Manchild” also debuted at No 1. on the Billboard Hot 100, and it’s also nominated for other important categories as well.
Best new artist:
The nominees for this category are Addison Rae, Alex Warren, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, The Marías, Olivia Dean, sombr, and Lola Young.
Although all of these artists have had career defining years, we believe Olivia Dean to be the winner of this category. What makes her stand out is her new album “The Art of Loving” topping the charts with not only hits, but also well written music; which is something that artists like Addison Rae and Lola Young lack. Many new artists these days are trying to be the next viral moment and create the next trending sound. Dean is in a lane of her own by sticking to her own sound and style. Her top songs, “Man I Need”, and “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” have cemented themselves in pop music with Dean giving viral music videos and graceful live performances.
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance:
The nominees for this category are “Defying Gravity” (Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande), “Golden” (Gravity HUNTR/X), “KATSEYE” for (Gabriela), and “ROSÉ” (Bruno Mars for APT), and “30 For 30” (SZA featuring Kendrick Lamar).
We think that “Defying Gravity” will take the win for this category because Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are definitely the dynamic (and iconic) duo. Working together on the hit movie Wicked was just the start of a meaningful friendship formed during joint performances, interviews, and press conferences. Also, we need to mention each of their vocal voices performing as Elphaba and Glinda. They’re outstanding! We also think that “30 For 30” has a good chance of winning because SZA and Kendrick together are iconic. They have done many performances together and sing incredibly well in a duo.
Overall, these are our hot takes for the Grammy predictions 2026. Can’t wait to see what will happen on Sunday! Stay tuned for our next article!
