Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are the couple of our generation. Correction, were the couple of our generation. Sorry, but it’s still hard for us to accept that they have broken up and he is now married to Hailey Baldwin Bieber. Justin has never seemed as fond of Hailey as he was of Gomez, and yes we don’t see everything behind closed doors, but we have to work with what we get. 

Hailey gives off big mean-girl energy, which is totally unacceptable especially when she targets our queen Selena. Hailey and Gomez have had rumored beef, being Justin’s two main beaus, although, it seems more one sided on Haileys behalf. After Gomez jokingly posted a video of her failed eyebrow lamination, Hailey’s BFF Kylie Jenner posted a close-up of her and Hailey’s eyebrows captioned “This was an accident?”. This situation is just a little too coincidental for us to believe it wasn’t shade toward Gomez. Now, we do feel the slightest bit of sympathy for Hailey, who is ridiculed for everything about her marriage. People constantly find pictures and videos of Justin looking uninterested in her and compare them to the Jelena days. What’s even worse (and funnier for us) is when people find old tweets of Hailey being a Jelena super-fan and saying, “I don’t care what anyone says but Justin and Gomez together are the definition of a teenage dream!” Agreed, but awkward seeing the current situation. 

In response to the recent eyebrow drama, Hailey has lost around 1 million followers. Then after that, Selena became the most followed woman on instagram, passing Kylie Jenner and proving whose side America is really on. 

Earle is Everything

The stars of TikTok have come a long way, from Baby Ariel on musical.ly to Charli D’Amelio and the Hype House. Now, there is a new wave of TikTok influencers, with its star being University of Miami student Alix Earle. Alix has blown up seemingly overnight, with currently 4.8 million TikTok followers. She’s known for her “get ready with me” (GRWM) makeup routine, funny party-girl stories, and overall relatable content. As somewhat of a ‘beauty’ influencer, people clearly trust her opinion, almost every makeup product she recommends is instantly sold out. 

We love everything about Alix because she shows us both the filtered glam and the reality of every college girl. You can definitely consider us influenced; the Drunk Elephant bronzing drops have been sitting in both our Sephora carts since the first time we watched Earle’s GRWM videos. 

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes

Netflix’s original drama series Outer Banks had us in the palm of its hands when it was released in 2020, but it wasn’t only the show. Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron and Chase Stokes, who plays John B, became the “it” couple on screen and in real life. We were obsessed with them. Maybe it was because it was 2020 and we were desperate for any human connection, but “it” only lasted so long. The couple broke up in November 2021, breaking the hearts of every Outer Banks fan. 

Country music artists Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans got married in 2017 and divorced in 2022, after five years of marriage. But, the drama didn’t stop with two signatures on divorce papers. Shots have been fired. Evans released a song, Over For You, in October 2022, before his divorce with Ballerini was finalized and sang, “I would have searched the whole world over for you.” Ballerini kept her silence when this happened (the girl is better than we are) and waited to release her recent EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, which is all about divorce. As 17-year-old girls, this makes us feel like we’re 60, divorced, and beyond unwell. Anyway, she was the recent musical guest on SNL, and added some (necessary) lyrics at the end of her song Blindsided seemingly directly referencing Evans: “You would’ve searched the whole world over/Yeah sure, okay.” 

Now that Stokes and Ballerini have both experienced broken hearts, they are dating. Slay? Unexpected duo, but we are so happy to see them thriving on each other’s Instagrams, because social media gives us all the validation we need!

Shawn Mendes and Sabrina Carpenter

Hollywood’s newest couple? Shawn Mendes and Sabrina Carpenter are reportedly dating, and the paparazzi has caught them out and about together on multiple occasions. They were recently seen leaving Miley Cyrus’ album release party together and these photos are proving to us that Carpenter does not have to buy herself flowers (girl boss can if she wants to though). —like the rest of us—fell for Mendes almost as fast as she speed walked out of the release party. Nevertheless, we are huge fans of this potential couple; from the height difference to the mutual upgrades from their exes. We are totally here for Mendes’ newest Señorita, and there’s There’s Nothing Holdin’ [Us] Back from getting fully emotionally invested.
