Boys Basketball: On Tuesday, the boys lost 60-45 to Bergenfield and then dropped another on Thursday to Demarest 51-44. In the Bergen County Invitational Quarterfinal on Saturday, the team lost 63-49 to Dwight Morrow.
Boys Bowling: The team picked up four 7-0 wins this week on Monday versus Teaneck, Tuesday versus Fort Lee, Wednesday versus Bergenfield, and Friday versus Tenafly. The team also placed second in the Bergen County Tournament. Senior Ryan Jensen bowled an average score of 218 in Monday’s win.
Boys Ice Hockey: The NV Ice hockey team played three games this week. They lost against River Dell 7-5. Oliver Berenbroick scored 4 out of 5 goals, leading the team. This game was followed by two losses: a 13-3 loss against Pascack Valley and 9-4 against Tenafly.
Swimming: The Swim Team had no meets this week but were practicing for their upcoming competitions next week. For the boys, their next match is against Parsippany Hills in the NJSIAA Tournament in the Quarterfinal Round. For the girls, their next match is also the Quarterfinal Round in the NJSIAA Tournament versus Kittatinny.
Cheer: The team won the National Division Championship after coming in first place in the competition at Ramapo on Sunday.
Girls Basketball: Tuesday, the girls defeated Bergenfield 59-16 and Thursday beat Demarest 46-39. Then, on Saturday, in the Bergen County Tournament Quarterfinals, the girls beat Creskill 47-23. They face off against Teaneck in the final four on Saturday, February 10.
Girls Bowling: Similar to the boys, the girls swept the week, winning each match 7-0. On Monday, they defeated Teaneck, on Wednesday, Bergenfield, and Friday they beat Tenafly. Senior Ashley Park bowled an average score of 142 on Monday, on top of senior HyeRim Seo who bowled an average of 143 on Friday, and senior Rachel Koo rolled an average of 142 on Friday, too.
Wrestling: On Wednesday, January 31, the team defeated New Milford 54-21 with pins from sophomore Leo DeCandia, junior Daniel O’Sullivan, senior Caleb Kim, junior Ryan Sullivan, junior Pierce Kupprion, junior Nick Rossi, junior Jack Horgan, freshman Peter Vitsentzatos, and sophomore Dylan Macaluso.
