Baseball Advances in County Tournament, Boys Golf Competes at Arcola Invitational and Big North Conference Tournament, Girls Golf Competes in the in Season Tournament, and Boys Tennis Wins Nine in a Row

Baseball: The boys defeated Paramus 9-3 to start off the week on Monday after sophomore Max Garcia had four hits. On Wednesday, the team lost 16-1 to Hackensack and lost 5-3 to Ridgewood on Friday. In the Bergen County Tournament on Saturday, they defeated Leonia 7-4. Senior Rocco Pierorazio and sophomore Anthony Onnembo each had two RBIs in Saturday’s win. 

Boys Golf: The boys placed 8th at the Arcola Invitational after shooting a score of 353 on Monday. On Wednesday, the team beat Ramsey 155-162. Senior Jun Chun shot a 34 while senior Michael Buckley shot 38. In the Big North Conference Tournament on Friday, the boys placed ninth after shooting a 335. 

Girls Golf: On Wednesday in the in season tournament, the girls placed eighth with a score of 408. Junior Boram Shim placed 25th individually with a score of 92. 

Boys Lacrosse: On Tuesday, the team lost to West Milford 10-7. Juniors Ronan Malady and Stas Venetsanos each scored two goals in Tuesday’s loss.

Girls Lacrosse: On Monday, the girls beat Fair Lawn 10-4 after three goals each from sophomore Mia Derrico and junior Annie Lee. In the first round of the county tournament on Friday, the girls were defeated by Westwood 17-7. Lee scored four goals in the loss.

Softball: The girls defeated Pascack Valley 6-5 on Tuesday, beat Waldwick 5-4 on Wednesday, and won over Paramus 9-4 on Friday. Senior Lizzie Ognibene had four hits and four RBIs in Friday’s win. Saturday, the girls lost to Ramapo 11-7 in the second round of the county tournament. Junior Mia Ferraro had three RBIs in the loss. 

Track & Field: The team competed in the Big North Championship on May 2. The following athletes were medalists in their respective events (via the track and field’s social media account):

Boys Tennis: The boys won five consecutive games versus Pascack Valley, Ramapo, Pascack Hills, Teaneck, and Creskill during the week. Seniors Joseph Hwang and Owen Young won all of their doubles matches this week. 

Boys Volleyball: On Monday April 29, the boys played Hackensack at home and on Wednesday, lost away at Ramapo. On Thursday, they beat Teaneck in two sets not only for their conference but for the first round of Bergen County Tournaments.
