The start of 2023 brought new fashion trends with it. Without a doubt 2024 will do the same thing. As we move into the holiday season, new fashion trends are starting to arise that will carry on into the new year and of course, new ones will come along as the months go on. Join us as The Lance breaks down what they think will be fashionable in the following year.

Bows

Bows started appearing in the late fall of 2023 and just keep getting bigger and bigger. From tying them in hair to wearing them sewn on a shirt, bows do not seem to be leaving any time soon. They are something affordable and accessible for people of all walks of life to wear and style. Bows can be transitioned from all seasons too, with lighter, airy colors in the spring and summer while in winter darker and warmer colors.   

Quilted

Another trend starting to pop up again this fall were quilted jackets. Jackets of different colors and patterns were sewn in a way just like the quilts that people put on their beds. They were most famously being sold at Free People, but other companies started to make less expensive knock-offs so the average consumer can participate in the trend. There is no doubt that the trend can be carried on into the warmer months with lighter jackets, sleeveless tops, and pants. Quilts can also be seen in the form of a bag, most famously tote bags.

Textures

There is nothing more exciting in fashion than clothes with cool textures, and we are starting to see more and more. Some popular styles include ribbed clothing of various sizes, knit or crochet work, beading, embroidery, metallic, the list goes on. Not only are more textures starting to resurface, but people are starting to mix and match different textures. Whether that is beading and knit or ribbed and metallic, there are hundreds of styles to play with in 2024. 

Personalized Jewelry

For years people have loved to stack and layer necklaces, bracelets, and rings. Adding a personal touch can really make wearing jewelry well.. personal! It is a great way to show off your name or even your zodiac sign. It has also become more popular for people to wear their partner’s initial or full name around their neck or wrist. 

Ralph Lauren

Every year various brands come back into trend. In the fall Ralph Lauren came back in full swing. Their cozy style had a huge influence on the fashion community and everyone keeps reaching for more. As the weather gets colder and colder, without a doubt, more Ralph Lauren sweaters and outerwear will be seen. Though the brand is expensive, may people invest in their pieces to follow the trends. This trend might be harder to transition into the warmer months, but Ralph Lauren still makes beautiful spring and summer clothes. 

Rain boots

Rain boots have always been something that people use, but they were never considered that fashionable. Boots have been trending for a while, but they are not that practical. Having a boot that is cute and practical is always a good idea. They can be styled for the winter, but also for the spring. Also, rain boots come in hundreds of styles, colors, and brands. The options are endless when it comes to rain boots. 

Fashion is ever changing as the years go by, and 2024 has a bright future for trends. Over the last year trends have changed, and these trends will definitely change too. We want to make sure that you go into 2024 looking your best and feeling chic.
